Air Force Seeks Bush's Approval for Space Weapons Programs

I'm not sure how I feel about this one:

Air Force Seeks Bush's Approval for Space Weapons Programs - New York Times

The idea of nations tossing bombs at each other in space kind of weirds me out. When I first read the headline for this article, I thought it was about defense against aliens; AWESOME, right? Yet the idea of us hurtling bombs from outerspice (because it belongs to AMERICA...bwahaha!) is a little scary. Maybe I feel this way because I think we should leave space to the cosmic, spiritual wars. Human war should be kept on Earth. But that's just me.

  • I think your going about this in the wrong manner. Human wars should be kept on earth? Heaven doesnt reside anymore in space than it does here on earth. The idea that God is "up there" is rather silly (no hate amy). The idea that we could drop bombs from space on land targets excites me beacuse that means cheaper delievery of payload without the costly loss of life. THen again, I'd hate for the concept of war to be a vedio game. I'd rather tell some techie that his space toy was destroyed, than the mother of a fighter pilot that her son wont come home. But thats just me.
